

Military Lodge members - A tremendous Service of Gratitude was organised by the United Services Club, Sidcup yesterday in conjunction with the Armed Forces Day celebrations. The service was held at The Parish Church of St John the Evangelist, Sidcup (next door to the Shirley Woolmer Masonic Centre) conducting the service was the Reverend Cathy Knight-Scott.




The West Kent Military Lodge was well represented with five of its members present viz., Colin Gurnett MBE, Mark Eyles-Thomas, Paul Holmes, Bob King and Kieran Smith, with Mark Eyles-Thomas delivering a speech at the service titled ‘Memories of 1982’.
Many dignitaries were present; Louie French Member of Parliament, Old Bexley and Sidcup, The Worshipful, The Mayor of the London Borough of Bexley, Councillor Nick O’Hare, David Easton, Representative Deputy Lieutenant, London Borough of Bexley, Councillor Brian Bishop exMayor the London Borough of Bexley, Councillor James Hunt exMayor the London Borough of Bexley and Peter Hucker-Todd the President of the Footscay United Services Club


After the Service of Gratitude a small remembrance service was held back at the United Services Club where 6 wreaths were laid
