Great Sadness - Daniel John Spencer - Message from the PGM

It is with enormous sadness that I report the passing to the Grand Lodge above of Daniel John Spencer, AsstProvGM, aged 48, last night.

In United Grand Lodge of England he was appointed to the Rank of Past Assistant Grand Standard Bearer in 2018. In 2020 he was appointed to Assistant Provincial Grand Master, overseeing Group 4 (Bromley) lodges. In 2021 he was promoted in Grand Rank to Past Senior Grand Deacon. Also in 2021, for services to freemasonry in the Province of West Kent, he was a proud recipient of the Invicta Award.

At the time of his passing in the Province of West Kent, Daniel was a subscribing member of Knole Lodge No 1414, Anderida Lodge of Installed Masters No 8593, West Kent Provincial Grand Stewards’ Lodge No 8565 and Fiennes Cornwallis Lodge No 9279. He was also an honorary member of Beauchamp Lodge No 1422.

Before becoming Assistant Provincial Grand Master Daniel was best known throughout the Province for his flamboyance as an organist. His love of music in Masonry was demonstrated by playing as guest organist to 14 lodges.

Our thoughts are with all his family and friends.
If it is the family’s wishes to do so, details of the funeral will be forwarded in due course.
