The remarkable October meeting of the West Kent Military Lodge was a night of presentations with the main item on the agenda being a presentation from VW Bro Mark Eyles-Thomas on his experiences of the Falklands War.

The Remarkable October meeting continued

Peter Rhodes PAGDC also made a presentation to the Lodge which included; a Beauchamp Lodge No.1422 Past Master's jewel (1960), a Beauchamp Lodge No.1422 Centennial jewel (1972) and a Solani Chapter No.1422 Past Zerrubabel jewel (1962).

W Bro George Amore:

Born: 1st August 1902 - Passed to the Grand Lodge Above on 13th September 1993 aged 91 years.
Initiated into the Lodge of True Freemasonry No. 1865 on 3rd January 1947 in Calcutta, the District Grand Lodge of Bengal (DGLB). The Lodge of True Freemasonry was consecrated 19th February 1880 and still exists today, holding their meetings in Calcutta.

Promoted Past Grand Standard Bearer (DGLB) 15 February 1958 - certificate above
Promoted Past District Junior Grand Deacon 19th January 1962 - certificate above
Promoted District Junior Grand Warden 20th January 1967 - certificate above

George was Exalted into Howrah Chapter No. 2037 on 23rd September 1947 - MEZ in 1958 & 1972. The Howrah Chapter was constituted in 1905 and still exists and there most recent meeting was in Calcutta, India on Friday 27th October 2023.

He joined Solani Chapter No 1422 becoming MEZ in 1962 - Unfortunately this Chapter is no longer listed.

Promoted District 2nd Grand Principal 22nd January 1977

Moved to England in 1977 where he continued his membership of Beauchamp Lodge No.1422 and joined Per Mare Per Terram Lodge and Chapter Nos.3609 in Chatham, where he lived.
Married to Gladys for many years until she passed away around 1985.

The final presentation was made at the festive board where W Bro Kerry Norris presented VW Bro Mark Eyles-Thomas with an incredible statuette of a Royal Marine Commando of the time of the Falklands War in recognition of Mark's service during the campaign.
