April 25 Meeting - A thoroughly enjoyable time was had by all who attended the West Kent Military Lodge meeting and our thanks go to all the Brethren for their continued support.

The April 25 meeting Salient Points:

The April 25 meeting was ‘Tyled’ shortly after 1730hrs with 35 brethren in attendance (attendance numbers being down due to their being a clash with a Provincial event at Bromley.

April 25 meeting

The April 25 meeting started with the current Master W Bro Ray Armstead introducing a number of the visitors to the Brethren.

Lodge business included; welcoming 3 joining members, balloting for 2 further joining members (with both ballots proved successful) and reading out a further joining member’s details. All five new joining members were welcomed into the Lodge by the Worshipful Master and issued with a copy of the Lodge by-laws. The member whose details were read out in open Lodge will be balloted for at the June meeting.

The main event on the agenda was to ‘pass’ Bro Stewart O Conner (ex Royal Engineer). The ceremony was conducted by the WM with decorum and finesse and all present enjoyed the ceremony.

The Lodge also received recognition for its donations to the West Kent 2026 Festival from Roland Stokes, Festival Chairman. A Bronze certificate was presented by Roland to Steve Hyland, Charity Steward (below)

The Lodge is also pleased to announce that it is interviewing another candidate for initiation on Wednesday 9th April and should this prove successful the interview team will be making a recommendation for his initiation at either the June or November meeting. We also have another candidate for initiation who has expressed an interest but is yet to be interviewed.

In addition we also have a number of other interested parties that have expressed an interest in joining our ranks in 2025 and we look forward to bringing them on in due time.

2025 brings 50 years of the Beauchamp Lodge meeting at the Wilmington Masonic Hall and we are extremely proud of our association with the Masonic Hall.
