The October 24 meeting Salient Points:

The October 24 meeting was ‘Tyled’ shortly after 1730hrs with 68 brethren in attendance (attendance numbers being restricted due to the ceremony taking place). Of those in attendance there were; 4 x Entered Apprentice, 4 x Fellowcrafts, 9 x Master Masons, 4 x Ruling Masters & a Past Master, therefore approx. 30% of those in attendance were light blues. There was also 2 Invicta Awards holders present and a holder of the Order of Service to Masonry. 11 of those in attendance were first time visitors to the Lodge.

The October 24 meeting started with the current Master W Bro Daniel Unthank introducing a number of the visitors to the Brethren. Daniel then formally welcomed V W Bro Ian Gallehawk, Deputy Provincial Grand Master of West Kent.

Lodge business included; declaring W Bro Ray Armstead as Master Elect for the ensuring year (January 2025), balloting for 3 joining members (with all three ballots proved successful). Two of these joining members are ex-forces, 1 x Royal Signals and 1 x Honorable Artillery Company all three were subsequently welcomed into the Lodge by the Worshipful Master and issued with a copy of the Lodge by-laws.

Unfortunately the candidate for initiation was unable to attend the October meeting on the night due to personal circumstances and so will be initiated at the January Installation meeting.

2 Master masons; 1 x ex-Royal Engineer and 1 x Parachute Regiment recruit, were presented their Master Mason certificates by Ian Gallehawk, the Deputy Provincial Grand Master and with the additional time available Ian gave a tremendous explanation of the certificate and the symbolism therein, which the brethren thoroughly enjoyed.

3 further joining members details were read out. These joining members will be balloted for in January. The lodge has already received an application for another joining member and are informed of 3 further joining members that intend to submit their joining member applications forms in time to be read out at the January meeting.

We also have a number of other interested parties that have expressed an interest in joining our ranks in 2025 and we look forward to welcoming them.

2025 will bring 50 years of the Beauchamp Lodge meeting at the Wilmington Masonic Hall. We hope to also celebrate 50 subscribing members in 2025.
